For a Marginalia question, a connection problem or a privacy request, contact LUFF LLC through the contact form or email support@luff.works.
Help us understand the problem
- Include the app version, device and operating-system version.
- Describe what you expected and what happened, including any error message.
- Say which feature or optional connection you were using.
- Remove private content and connection details from screenshots before sending them.
Do not send passwords, app-specific passwords, access tokens, private relay addresses or a full library. A short description is enough to begin. If more diagnostics are needed, we will explain what to send and how it will be handled first.
If a connection is unavailable
For relay and chat connections, check that a device with your library is online and that you approved the connection in Marginalia. The relay forwards requests to that device; it does not host your full library. Check permissions and connection status before granting access again.
For iCloud, a home server or mail import, check the account or server and connection settings. Revoking permission or removing a connection does not remove content already imported or copied elsewhere.
YouTube connections and saved references
YouTube account browsing is optional and read-only on supported devices. A reference selected through the API can need reconnection when its provider cache expires or is missing after a restore. Reconnect the same Google account to refresh available information. Your own notes and deliberately imported caption files remain in the library.
Disconnect YouTube clears device credentials and revokes the local provider grant, then requests revocation from Google. If the app cannot confirm Google's revocation, use Google's security settings. Supported sync carries the revocation to other devices when they reconnect; suspended or offline devices cannot guarantee immediate physical removal of earlier cached bytes.
In-app playback requires a current YouTube API response that explicitly identifies the video as not Made for Kids. An unavailable or inconclusive check, or a Made for Kids video, uses external playback. On supported iOS devices, connect your Google account for the check; supported Mac releases can use a locally configured API key. Do not send that key or Google tokens to Support.
Disconnecting does not remove links or titles you supplied independently, personal notes, imported captions or Google's own records. Contact us with the app version, device and a description of the connection problem, without sending credentials or private account lists.
Your data and privacy requests
For LUFF-held information, identify the service and an identifier you can safely provide, such as the email used for a website response. Do not send secrets to identify a library. We may need proportionate verification that a request belongs to you.
Your private website removal link removes the corresponding active response. Leaving a TestFlight beta is separate: use Stop Testing in TestFlight.
Deleting a library item does not erase every copy. Full backups can include history and deleted material. Pausing sync or uninstalling does not erase iCloud, exports, another device or a selected server. Describe which copy you want to remove before relying on a deletion step.
Rights and content complaints
If material processed through a LUFF service infringes your rights, describe the material and relevant service and provide a contact route, without private credentials.
