Local use needs no Marginalia account. Optional connections have different data flows: iCloud, paired devices, home servers, sealed relay traffic, readable chat forwarding and selected-text hosted AI. The Privacy policy explains recipients, retention and deletion controls.

The license and optional services

The Terms & conditions link to Apple's standard App Store license and explain ownership, connections and planned paid services. Joining the launch list does not create a subscription or charge.
